Austrocard can be used in SMATRICS charging network now

Since April 30th 2024, the Austrocard can be used at SMATRICS charging points and in partner charging networks. This will give users access to 90% e-charging network coverage and nationwide acceptance from Vienna to Bregenz.

"We are delighted that it is now possible to charge and refuel vehicles with a single card. This pioneering partnership with Austrocard marks an important milestone in our endeavours to promote electromobility in Austria and beyond," says Hauke Hinrichs, CEO of SMATRICS.

The well-known Austrocard is thus being upgraded: From now on, it will not only enable the refuelling of traditional fuels, but also the convenient charging of electric vehicles in the public SMATRICS charging network. By expanding the card function, 60,000 Austrocard customers will now be able to charge their electric vehicles at 16,000 charging points throughout Austria since April 30th 2024. In Europe, around 160,000 charging points that can be used with the Austrocard are available via roaming.

Over 90% network coverage in Austria with one card

The integration of the SMATRICS charging network into the Austrocard offer promises network coverage of more than 90% in Austria and nationwide acceptance from Vienna to Bregenz.
