In order to ensure that all vehicles are serviced nevertheless, the SMATRICS load management coordinates the charging processes with one another, e.g. by reducing the charging output or arranging for the vehicles to charge consecutively – and all, of course, adjusted to meet your individual requirements. Creation of a requirements profile

SMATRICS works with you to record the usage behaviour of the vehicles and drivers, and thus to calculate the energy requirement. Based on this, we design an optimum load management solution. Factors for efficient load management are:

Local load management via master/slave configurations

With local load management, a fixed maximum output is divided amongst the charging points. This output is defined in a master charging station and transmitted to the slave charging station via a data line. In this way, up to 16 charging points can be integrated into one load management group.

Local load management via a programmable logic controller (PLC)

If the idea is to install hardware from various manufacturers or include additional reference values (e.g. upstream meters) in the control system, a separate Master Control Box is used. In this Master Control Box, the maximum value is set and sent to the slave charging stations. This load management system is particularly suited for highly scalable facilities with up to 200 charging points.

Central load management by the Charge Point Management System charVIS

With a central load management system, the back-end regulates the individual charging stations. Timetables are sent to the charging stations – each vehicle can be controlled variably and individually.

  • Infrastructure: Peak shaving and prevention of local maxima (limited network connection output, cable sizing, sub-distribution/fuses)
  • Network charges: Minimisation of the three highest 1/4-hour average power values (company load profile required)
